Foodie Friday

Chocolate gravy.
Yes, it is bad for you. If you eat it everyday. Yes, it has sugar. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be evil. Yes, yes, yes….. I know several ways ppl make this treat. . Been making it the same way since I was 9 years old. This is a Sunday morning treat around here. Everyone looks forward to Chocolate gravy Sunday. ( i have a homemade biscuit recipe, a few posts down…that would sure go nice with this, too)

1 cup fat free milk
1 cup sugar ( u can use 3/4c. but no lower as it gets icky bitter)
4 tbs cocoa. (I use hershey’s, u can try carob powder tho)
1 tsp butter.

in a medium saucepan, combine dry ingrediants and mix. Add milk and cook over med. high heat until begins to bubble. This syrup has a rise-and-fall in the pot. Keep stirring it, and it will begin to rise up in the pot, keep stirring. eventually it will begin to fall back down to the beginning level. When it gets there (usually about 5 minutes) its done. Take off heat, pour up in some cutegravy boat, and add the butter and stir. This is wonderful over crumbled biscuits. Also, use the left overs for ice cream, smores, or save for those leftover biscuits as a good midnight snack. Gosh, that sounds bad… heh. Try it. this is some good stuff!

Happy Foodie Friday!
